If the interior is not crapped out, that would be an interesting purchase...

Always entertaining to see an ad with "body man special" in the title...especially a Mirage...

Keep in mind THIS damage was $7700. So you can imagine what it would cost to fix this ^^^ Craiglist special.

That's not gonna buff out. Looks like more work than it's worth, but if you could find the entire right side of a car for cheap enough and can replace it properly....

Body shops rip off insurance companies. They quote and charge for using oem parts and sometimes even provide invoices showing they used oem parts but they use cheap jobber stuff and pocket the extra. I see it happen all the time. Cars are nearly written off pretty often over a minor fender bender because a bodyshop quotes the highest possible price hoping the insurance company will go for it rather than salvage the car and pay out it's value.

But for that $7700 repair, it's possible aftermarket parts aren't available. From here it looked like really minor damage to the left inner fender and it needed a hood, hinges, bumper cover, headlight, fog light, and maybe a few pieces of the rad support. Then $5000 worth of paint and labor.

This one is interesting. I've been watching it for a couple of months (it's been for sale since June according to the CarFax). This is advertised as a 2023 SE (but it appears to be a "Black Edition") with less than 1,000 miles. It has a rebuilt title...so it's been auctioned and repaired. This is at a used car dealer and it started off at $14,500. It's down to $12,9995 or best offer. This might be a decent buy for the right person...if the price keeps going down. This car would be $17K-$18K in the current market with a clean title.

I did some digging and this thing was auctioned at a Copart facility about 10 miles from me. THIS website has pictures. It is listed as "side" damage...but I can't see anything in the photos except maybe some scratches on the passenger side doors?!? Strange. If it only needed paintwork done, I would see that as a positive.

I'm guessing that it's not selling because the average buyer would need to finance it...and I'm not sure lenders will write a loan on a car with a rebuilt title. This car also would not have any warranty...but I suppose you could take it in anyway and try it if you had an issue.

In the auction listing it looks like both right side wheels are curb rashed pretty bad. The front is hard to tell but you can see some silver on top of the wheel in one of the pics.
In the dealer pictures, the rh wheel looks mangled(not sure how that passed a salvage inspection) and spray painted. And it's hard to tell for sure but it looks like the rh front fender is bent in at the rear and the flare doesn't sit flat up against the fender there, or maybe that's an illusion?
I wouldn't not buy it, but I'd negotiate a new wheel or two and maybe a fender too. Oh, and get the alignment checked out. Otherwise, it's probably fine.

It kinda looks like there's a gap between the bumper and 1/4 panel where the flare is in this pic

I would definitely want to look this one over in person. I didn't even notice the scratched up wheels (because I would ditch them anyway ). There's definitely a gap where you said. Wonder if they had to pull that piece off to blend the paint or something...and they just slapped it back on with some generic 2-sided tape?

I'm not a fan of those black wheel arch trim pieces. I'd want to take them off.

For anyone really curious about this one, you can pay $9.99 at THIS site to see the auction sale price. I thought I had a Copart account so I could see this info...but apparently I don't. I used to check out this Copart location on my lunch hour. It is a huge lot with over 1,400 cars. I can't remember what the rules were...but you didn't have to be a dealer to bid on some of the cars.

I'll keep an eye on this one. If it gets cheap enough, maybe I'll go look at it.

I found this site that says it sold for $8000usd. Not sure if that's correct or not?

    Edit:
Looking at the auction listing site that topfuel posted, it mentions that it had a rebuilt status already. So was this thing wrecked twice with under 1000 miles on it?

Looking at the Carfax (below), this one must have an interesting back story.

It was sold new...and 6 days later was in a collision and declared a total loss by an insurance company. But it was apparently still being driven because it racked up all the miles after it was declared a total loss.
