Basically: "It has served us well. Transmission needs replacing. For parts or someone interested in repairing it. Doesn't come with rear rack."

Noooooooooo! Busted manual sucks too! Canadian history question: the English Canadians won Canada from the French after a brutal war. How were they able to stay and insist everything be written in both languages? Harding seems fitting in that fierce era of the British Empire? I know the Acadian French were expelled by the Canadians from Nova Scotia forcing them to flee to Louisiana. How were the remaining French strongholds able to hold out?

Fun trivia fact. The only battle between Americans and Canadians during the war of 1812 was a resounding victory for the Canadian farmers fighting an invasion of American soldiers.

Beats me! Sounds like you know more Canadian history than I do.

FYI, I contacted the seller of the blue one to ask what's specifically wrong with it, and whether it can be driven.

"The car drives, but I wouldn't advise going very far".

(Hmmm... is 170 km too far? )

They didn't answer whether they knew the specific problem or not. So I'm guessing not.

EDIT: Looks like a "tested" junkyard gearbox would cost $350-$400.

You are bouncing between the Seven Years war, and the war of 1812.. but basically something called the Quebec Act in 1777 was the legal start of Quebec's "unique" status ---maintaining French.. all the way to today. But it was a hard fight. Quebec stayed Quebec a lot because of the catholic church as well.. just was such a predominant force.

I think in short the British victors figured it was easier to let Quebecers self rule, than to have them go all Revolutionary like in America (and France of course)

You're the expert! I was just trying to explain the history. You asked.

I guess I won't be getting any gratuity?

Sorry Dirk, I think I annoyed you by literally answering your question. Just can't win.

Nope its all good. I only get annoyed at censorship on here lol. I wasn't confused though about the 2 different conflicts and thank you for your knowledge. Its just crazy to think Americans and Canadians fighting! If it did happen I guess Canadians would do like the Russians and retreat into the Great White North and let the weather do most of the fighting. Smart move imo. Of course both countries have nukes so maybe it wouldnt be so smart.

Not a Mirage but looks like a deal 2018 Yaris Manual 34,000km for $11,000 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details...dId=1529183997 If I had the cash and more room in the garage I'd seriously consider this one. I'd gladly pay $5-10/month more in fuel to have more power and a more refined(better) car.
