Not likely.... that usually falls under electrical.
The warranty booklet has all the parts listed under their respective warranty categories.
    Will weld for beer.

I'm guessing that it is, actually.

The starter / ring gear issues that affected some of the south Asian, Australian & NZ cars were covered by warranty.

Some of the replacements included starters, eg:

If I ever have to replace my starter, I am going to try to get ahold of one from one of the countries that has the stop/start feature due to the beefier starter on those cars. Same goes for the alternator.

Point taken... I didn't even know they had different components. I though they had the same components but different ecu programming.

Did we definitively settle that question? I don't remember...

Maybe one of our Euro members could get part numbers for the starters in the regular vs. auto stop/start models.

I'll have to look it up later but I had read an article at one time, I believe from Mitsubishi, that stated the battery was larger, the alternator was a 90 amp unit, and the starter was a heavy duty model. All of this to ensure the charging system could deal with the larger load, and the starter would last due to the higher number of starts it would have to do.

In the U.K., the 1.2L manual Mirage has an 85 amp alternator while the automatic 1.2L Mirage has a 95 amp alternator. For some reason though, it shows they both have the auto start/stop feature.

The U.S. spec Mirage shows to have an 85 amp alternator.
