Why is your limiter so low? Mine gets throttle cut at 6700/6800. That's when it should be.

    I meant 6500.

I dont always bump into rev limiter, I just made it once to see how high it can go.

It certainly doesn't 'kick in' like an older VTEC system, but I do notice that the engine power doesn't drop off between 3500 and 5500 rpm as happens with most older engines without variable valve timing.

I can feel a defiant increase in torque/power around 3000-3500 rpm, so I assumed that's when it kinda kicks to the "power" mode

I have never been at 4000 rpm or higher EVER I think (unless maybe on the motorway) and have never been higher than 90 mph (144.84 km/h) EVER in the life of this car. On the motorway I am going between 60 - 70 mph. 80% of the time I am 60mph and 20% of time at 70mph if I am drafting behind a huge lori

In the city I dont think I have EVER shifted at 3500 rpm or above EVER (unless it was a shifting mistake) and maybe that has happened 3 or 4 times where I meant to go to 5th gear and went to 3rd by mistake (But I corrected this immediately when it occured)

Variable valve timing and Variable valve lift are two different systems.

VTEC is a Variable valve lift system that uses 2 different cam profiles that "engage" either for economy or additional power on demand.

Whereas the 3A92 only has a single cam profile with VVT on the intake side that controls when to open and close a valve, or maybe even how long it'll be open and will always be active depending on the power demand.

Butt dyno-wise, I feel the torque build up starting from the 2,500rpm mark where i guess the 3A92's valve design is most effective, then feel torque plateau from 4000 - 5,000rpm mark, and revving up to 6,500 will only offer very little acceleration gain.

And oh, hitting the red line even just a little will trigger the ECU to cut the fuel supply, thus, you'll lose power as if the throttle pedal is not working for at least 3 seconds. It's a safety feature.

I live in the 3000-4500 rpm power band haha on the interstate I try to stay below 3700 but its crazy when everyone wants to do 80+mph still average 43mpg
