    Rear Speaker Upgrades (Component)

From the backside of the panel we see several prime locations for circle sawing, I chose the marking inside the blue circle to pilot the central guide bit through.

Here is the result from the circle saw, although I had to roughly increase the diameter of the the hole by using sanding bit with my drill.

It makes sense to upgrade the rear pair of speakers over the fronts as the rear speakers are closer to the driver's ears than the fronts.

What an occupant in the either front seat would see looking back.

Was there room to mount the tweeter above the door handle?

Anywhere above the door handle isn't a flat enough surface for the way the tweeters are designed to be installed.

A stupid question, but do the tweeters connect to the radio or to the main speaker in the door, or do you need some kind of a crossover filter?

The tweeter contacts directly with the door speaker and this Hertz K130 comes with an inline crossover filter preinstalled.

Now I should buy another set of component speakers for the front doors. The tweeter installation was easy enough, and the sound quality is dramatically different - there is an ambiance from component speakers that is levels beyond the factory woofers or even aftermarket coaxials.
