I was just looking at the local dealer's inventory and noticed this picture. US Mirages are calling for 0W-20 oil.

Yeap as well as European ones. On the package of the oil it says "Hybrid motor oil". Apparently newer engines requires low viscosity (which means .... duhhhh ... lower resistance thus makes it easier for the moving parts to move). And i can imagine it's good for eco driving as well.
Mitsubishi however has never been difficult with oils. You can pour just about any motor oil and it will run. OMG I love japanese motors and not those bloody western cars which needs specific oil type or brand to run (exotic oil).

Are you changing the oil yourself? What about the dealer-service warranty-issue's?

Not yet, I bought the oil considering to exchange the oil after 5000 KM but the dealer discourage me to do so as they said by recent cars you don't have to change the oil after 1000 km like it used to and assure me to exchange it after 20K.

So I have not change the oil but will do it with the first service. I also bought the filter. But if I were to change the oil i will let the dealer do it for me, they charge 25 euro and dispose of the old oil for me, it's a chump change! I don't mind paying 25 euro to let ppl do dirty work for me ;-) plus I won't have to worry about the warranty.

That was the maintenance, but if you go there to change the oil (ONLY let them change the oil), they charge 25 euro.

I'd just as soon run 5W-20 over 0W-30, you can get 5W-20 in dino oil (cheap) and it will be thinner at operating temp than 0W-30. Just drive easier when warming up.
