I have a pair of Sealight LEDs coming from Amazon. It was an impulse purchase.

I was shopping for LED fog lamp replacements when the crawler along the bottom showed headlamp LEDS. AFAIK there's no fan on the headlight LEDs I bought. Something about needing a 10,000rpm fan to dissipate all the heat generated scared me off the other brands even though they were cheaper/brighter. With my luck the fan would fail and my Mirage would burn to the ground.

If these things are as good as everyone is reporting my second Mirage will get both sets as well, fog and headlamp.

What's this issue with ETACS I see?

Bought the Curt Mirage hitch for $133, or $99 US. I thought was a great deal. I paid $170 ish for my first one.

    Josh,
How do these affect drivers coming at you?
Have you rode in another car with someone driving your car towards you?

    They look great

I have been looking at doing a projector retrofit and the sellers over at aliexpress say to use R4 LED bulbs. Does anybody know what tje difference is from the good quality bulbs that we have in the market?

    Found this on amazon
    https://www.amazon.com/Headlight-Bul.../dp/B076S3JHZS

    Edit:

Ok looks like i found my answer.. Looks like the R4 is the fanless base, the copper ribbon heat sink. The commom ones are the fan based cooling units

Now the question is which is better in terms on longevity?

If the fan quits what happens? The LED goes nuclear and burns up in 30 seconds? I suspect the fanless will go longer.

That is very true.. That is actually why i was thinking which one is better.

Hid's are so expensive vs leds

When I made my choice, one factor I considered is the pricing. I think, if you choose the lower-priced ones, you'd get what you pay for.

In theory, fanless LED should last longer
    Fan vs Fanless Led Headlights

But for Fan-type, you would get better performance and longevity for ones using ball bearings rather than sleeve bearings w/c would justify the higher price.

Also found the following thread recommending 4300K color temperature.

At about 3 years, my P6 headlight which is fan-type, is still OK.

I got these fanless LEDS, all over the web they have good reviews.

    https://www.amazon.com/SEALIGHT-Head...2664478&sr=8-5

For a few dollars more than fan equipped LEDs I have piece of mind knowing my Mirage won't go up in flames from a fan failure.

It actually makes sense that assuming there wont be any excessive heating fan less are safer.

Do you guys think 4300k is ok to put into projector retrofits?
