That's big news. It's a big enough problem that some owners have dumped their Mirage over alignment problems.
Now the dealer network needs to know.

That's the text of the whole e-mail. It was in response to me sending this message:
I wonder if Mitsubishi would like to make a statement that we can post on the forum on this issue:
Background: the primary problem that Mirage owners seem to be concerned about is out-of-spec rear wheel alignment, causing premature tire wear and (some owners say) odd handling.
Because the rear alignment is non-adjustble, numerous owners have had out-of-spec rear axles replaced under warranty. But some dealers have been less helpful than others in remedying the problem.
This has affected more than a few owners (all years), and the thread on the topic is one of our most read and replied to.
Here's the thing: some prospective Mirage buyers who research the car through the forum are reporting they're turned off making a purchase because of this issue. (I got another message to this effect from a potential buyer just this AM.)
Since so many of our members report they bought their Mirages specifically because of research & interaction with the forum, I wonder if a supportive official statement from the company would be helpful.

That makes me feel much better, as I am currently negotiating with a private owner on a used one.
It's nice to get a firm answer.
Now hopefully corporate doesn't retroactively change the alignment specs like Honda supposedly did with the Fit.
Also, I wonder if Canadian owners will get the same answer now.

This is huge news!. My car has 55k and I don't think I have a problem, but since they are willing to look at it I am going to LET them.
I am glad Mitsubishi has decided to stand tall on this....finally.
