This situation has only happened a few times...but I don't think anyone followed up and updated the forum like you are doing. So thanks for keeping us in the loop.
If they install a second rear axle on your car, you may be the first person I'm aware of where that actually happened. If I remember correctly, I think one dealer offered someone free tire rotations (or something crazy like that) instead of another replacement axle. So be ready for an "unusual" proposal like that.
They would probably never agree to do this...but a possible solution would be this:
- The dealer grabs a new Mirage on their lot (with a good rear alignment)
- The rear axle from that new Mirage is removed and installed in your car
- Your corrected rear alignment is verified and you drive away happy
If a known, good rear axle won't fix your alignment, there's another problem going on. Keep driving that loaner!
