No more modifing you Mirages soon???

I found some articles and then this site about how Mitsubishi along with other car companies are teaming up and trying to ban people from doing anything to their cars. I was surprise to see Mitsubishi on this list considering many of their owners are into this kind of stuff. What do you all think about this? I am finding it crazy that they would want to go down this direction....

Don't matter to me! I do not buy cars to modify them, I buy them to drive! If I sold new automobiles and someone modified it , I would cancel the warranty on them. You can always buy a used car to mod if you need to. I guarantee you the vast majority of people do not mod their NEW cars!!

I mod every car I own. Nothing major, just improvements in areas where the manufacturer dropped the ball.

It is currently illegal for a company to void the entire warranty on a car if a part is modified. It is covered in the Magnusson Moss Act. The warranty for the part you modified can be voided, but it is against the Magnusson Moss Act to voild the entire car warranty. Not only that, but it is up to the manufacture to prove the new part caused the problem.

Autozone and Oreiley's will throw a fit. Also, these are only on new cars, so Carmax and the like will rejoyce.

I highly doubt this will pass though.

Here is another example of this sort of outright impudency:

It makes you feel like being legally robbed!
