Makes sense, was already pretty confident just needed to hear from others more experienced! Did the first round today used STP fluid and zero issues.

Can anyone help? I changed my CVT fluid and filters today. The only problem is that the hole to bolt down the external filter housing snapped in half, so now I have no way to start the car and I cannot find the filter housing for sale online anywhere. Needless to say I am upset and a bit panicked. Have any of you who have torn down a transmission (Fummins may you can help) happen to have one you could ship me? Happy to pay for it.

Alex Schaf on the Facebook group suggested JB Weld. That may happen tomorrow. Damage pics below.

Would a thick fender washer do? If only to get your car back on the road. I don't have a CVT so I can't go out and look at mine but that's what I would try to get going again. See Lawyer Tabs for an example.
PS: How exactly does that filter housing attach to the CVT case? Isn't it pushed into a hole then twisted so that tab engages a fitting to stay in place? If that's how it fits together the screw simply keeps the filter housing from rotating out of position. And if that's the case, maybe that part that broke off isn't so critical after all. Just guessing at this.
PPS: I wouldn't trust JB Weld to hold. If that broke as originally formed, JB Weld won't hold any better.

Yeah this is gonna be our first round of attack. A guy in MLPS has one of these he will mail me also. Talk about a life saver.

100k miles on this CVT and filters looked good, fluid has been done about every 25k miles - so I hope there is no next time, this sorta scared me off.
Well, I had it secured (I thought) and had major fluid leakage - so I'm not confident that the tab is the most critical piece. When fluid started spraying everywhere I got fairly skittish and walked away. Gonna try again today with a clearer mind. The JB Weld and Washer would just be to hold me over for a few days.
I made a video on how to change both transmission filters and the cvt fluid. I had the "flashing D" and the error code P0876 pop up when I ran a code reader. Changing the fluid and filters seemed to solve the issue. Here is the video. https://youtu.be/CVSRNrlABqM
