Anyone have torque spec for oil plug?

I need to order a service manual, I know. It's on my list.
    Thanks in advance!

I just use an open-end box end combination wrench, put the box end on the plug and hit the side of the open end with my open hand until it won't go any more tight. Same process to remove the drain plug, just reversed. The factory probably has both the plug and filter on very tight, so remove the filter first.

Since 1968 I have never had any problem with a drain plug coming out, thousands of oil changes. I used to do them on the floor of my own shop when all the lifts were occupied. No danger of stripped threads and if their is a copper washer on the drain plug it will last through many oil changes.

    regards

Thanks. I also never had a problem with one leaking, but never had the copper washer type. Thought maybe I should torque when using crush washer. I'm probably being too particular, I never used to torque anything including spark plugs.

Do you use Amsoil? Heard it's good stuff, have not used it. I like Mobil 1 (cheaper, I think).

Mobil 1 here. I like it when Wal Mart has it on sale for $22.66 for 5 quarts. Buy 2 jugs, good for 3 oil changes, look for sale after 2nd oil change. Use an extended life oil filter. Nissan drain plugs were a softer metal than the oil pans threaded portion. Look at the threads in your drain plug and replace it when they look deformed, thinner and sharper threads.

Haven't used it myself ... I prefer Pennzoil, I'm using PYB 5w-30 right now.

Doesn't it call for 0w-20? Found a cap wrench 3/8ths drive I already had that fit perfect, said 65-67 mm.

I prefer conventional oil ... and 5w-30 is recommended for the Mirage's engine elsewhere in the world.
