Thread: Before I trade my CVT for a manual can anyone offer any advice???

    Coasting in neutral does no harm whatsoever.

    Also, note I didn't say neutral "wherever possible".

    Ignore that point if it doesn't apply to your driving situation and you'll still beat an equally or slightly better rated automatic with the other two.

    True, and can be dangerous if you get side tracked. And not paying attention. That's why I love the Cvt. because you can control the rpm with the way you drive and watch the Eco light and keep the Rpm low and the green light on. And know when to let off the gas and when and how much gas to give it. On my Frist road trip I did that and kept the speed a little below the limit and got 51.9 mpg
