Post We need your vehicle! message from dealership

    Hey guys and gals,

I've just received a weird message from my dealership:
Donut, we need to purchase your vehicle. We would like to purchase 50 used vehicles by June 1st to increase our pre-owned vehicle inventory and your car qualifies. Regardless of condition, we can pay you ABOVE market value.
What are your thoughts? Is this a generic mail or why would they want to buy a 1 year old Mirage to stock up their used lot?

Would you go for such a deal?

Typical push for used cars, the price they offer will stop you from selling them your car.

    I don't get it?
Why would the dealer buy a used car again?
Is it because you should get a upgraded version?

Uheym, here in the U.S. You get this advertise sale from the Dealer that they whant your Good used car. And the YOU need to come in and they will give you Top Dollar for your car!!! All that is a Trick to get you to come down so that they can sell you another car and they Don't give very much for car!! It's to make you look like a fool for falling for it. Because they give you a song and a dance about why they can't give you very much for your car. And then if you still owe on it that makes it worse

    Okay.
I would not fall into that, maybe because they don't do that here..

The only reason I bought a car is that im now living in a area where the public transportation isn't that good. There are busses, but I used to bike everywhere and go with public transportation wich is quite or very good in Copenhagen area where I'm from.. so taking the car is not my first priority, because the bike normally is faster

    thx all for the hints.

I'm glad you help me see the things a bit clearer. It's for sure an intriguingly weird method to get people to buy a new car.
