Looks like this may be the first of the "longer term" Mirage reviews coming from New Zealand, following the car's initial launch "first drive" coverage in February.

Pros:

- lots of interior space for the class, comfy front seats
- good driving position, outward vision
- light steering, small turning circle great in the city
- willing engine
- best in class fuel economy (for automatic)
- good value
- safety: 5-star ANCAP

Cons:

- "thrashy" engine note when worked
- styling
- flat rear seat comfort
- handling characteristics of the base car (attributed to the tires)
- "small car" feeling over 100 km/h

Overall:

"An appealing – and welcome – addition to the Mitsubishi lineup in New Zealand. In all, this new Mirage is a case of getting what you pay for - which is actually quite a lot for the money."
