Engine Temp Question (what temperature does radiator fan turn on?)

Hi Everyone.

New here. I'm having difficulty getting technical information about engine temperature out of Mitsubishi. Does anyone know what the maximum operating engine temperature for the 3A92 (1.2L)? Not that my engine is getting hot. I just don't like the idea of a 'surprise' warning light, and then overheating all of the sudden.

I'm planning on installing a gauge (and I hope I don't void my warranty).

I don't know if this one's come up before.

If someone has a ScanGauge, they could just note the temperature where the radiator fan comes on.

Scangauge is the way to go. OR just buy those 15$ (or less) obd2 bluetooth adapters and use your phone, or an old phone to get all the specs you can ever want.

My radiator fan comes on at 220 F and turns back off around 206 F. No warning lights.

Ah, thank you fifteenwindow. That's good intel. I've been thinking about getting an ELM OBD2 reader. But I'm probably still going to install an analog gauge.

So I guess, if the engine temp climbs upward of 230-240, it's freak out time.

I like the scanguage II. I bought a used one off eBay a few years ago for $40. It shows you four gauges at once, and tracks a bunch of other stuff. I think it's a pretty cheap way to get a lot of information.

I have defi gauges I just order but I need to find out how many mm is the stock radiator hose is so I can get the right adapter...

On the subject of gauges.. I'd like to find one small enough to fit into the port where the Engine Start button would go (I have a DE). Perhaps one made for a motorcycle would fit.

I do a lot of long-distance driving around 120-130kmh, and drive on secondary roads up in the Alps frequently.

I can assure you the cooling system is totally adequate.

The thermostat opens around 87°C and it doesn't really get much more than 5 degrees higher under normal highway conditions at 130kmh.
