How often do you change the CVT fluid?

I just called the dealer and they say every 100K.

Dealers don't know anything, they put 4 quarts of oil in my mirage. In the owners manual it says 30k

Ok, this is getting interesting. According to my manual you're supposed to change it every 30K under the SEVERE maintenance. But under REGULAR maintenance checking or changing the automatic transmission fluid is not even listed at all! That has to be a mistake. I think I'll change mine every 30K to be safe.

With the less than stellar history with CVT transmissions, I'd also do the 30k change intervals. A little bit of oil is worth a lot of peace of mind.

My sister was using her inlaws 2007 Jeep Compass (2.0L w/ CVT). It has 108k miles and the CVT is shot on it. I doubt the trans fluid has ever been changed in it though.

Yeah it's super easy to change the cvt fluid! If you can handle a oil change you can easily do the cvt, even if you don't normally do your own oil change it is worth it to do the cvt fluid change because of the crazy transmission service rates.
