DRIFT Xaust air intake system on Mitsubishi Mirage

Found this on youtube! On a G4 and a Mirage, unfortunately I don't think this is MAF compatible

It's just a pipe with a cone filter on the end. These types of intakes usually reduce power by allowing more hot air into the intake.

But lack of twist-and-turn piping and the smoother interior would probably make it better breathing which should show some top-end gains. But you're right, the lower end might suffer from it, especially with people here trying to stay below 1k rpm before shifting.

People have argued that the amount of air rushing in from outside is enough for a 'cool air' intake effect.

Some guy said he wanted some CAI for his truck. I said, uhhh we live in TX, i don't think you'll get any cool air here.

As soon as you start moving, the sucking air from the engine bay air is very near ambient. At a stop, it does get warm. I've verified this with a few different cars and my scangauge.
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

The mirages stock airbox is really restrictive. I run nothing off the TB and you would be surprised with how rev happy it becomes.
I am trying to purchase from them but they want way too much $$

Mistah, do you run a small cone off the throttle body or nothing at all?

I think the air filter the stock Mirage comes with is plenty for the small amount of air needed for the 1.2L. I can't wait to build my warm air intake
