    Upcoming Trip

I have a monster 740 mile round trip I have to drive on 07/10/15. I'm hoping to average 48mpg but I'll be running the air conditioner all day due to the high temps in Eastern Oregon. It will be interesting. Hopefully take a pic or two along the way.

I guess 242 was closed? Never did get around to driving that.

When I lived in Lebanon, I would frequently take Santiam Pass to visit a friend in Redmond. Loved that 11 mile stretch of 6% downgrade.

Hwy 242 was open. It's a definite must drive. So beautiful but very slow.

NICE, dark picture of your Mirage!! And the other pictures were great. I came down to Oregon City, & Gladstone from SeaTac and I got 50.2 mpg. I had to fight the trucks and a little Gusts of wind. I just got back. It looks like your trip is going well. Enjoy

It was a super long trip but having seat heaters made the trip so much better. I turned them on every hour or so for about 10 minutes to give myself a little "in flight" heat massage!

Did the final fill up and here is the tally: 747.9 miles total. Average 45.81mpg. My TPMS light came on early on the trip going over the Cascade Mountains as the temperature dropped due to elevation. Knowing how cantankerous the TPMS system is I looked at all the tires and they looked fine. I checked the pressures this morning after returning and what do you know, 3 tires had 40psi, 1 had 30psi. So I filled it to 40psi and the light went off. So I'm sure that my average would have been better if I didn't drive the whole trip with 1 tire under-inflated 10 psi !
