    ckeck engine light on

    Hi everyone,

So guess... I had my check engine light on, after bring my car to the garage the issue was because I fill my tank with 91 octane instead of 87.
I thought after 24000km a full tank of 91 will clean the fuel system, but the sensor didn't like it.
The mechanic at the dealership told me the light can also turn on if the gas cap is not locked properly.
Does any one had the same issue?

I highly doubt it was because you filled it with 91 octane, that makes absolutely no sense. A loose gas cap will definitely turn the check engine light on though. Make sure you tighten it when filling up.

    BTW, what was the code?

First suspect gas cap, clean the rubber seal on the cap itself and the filler neck where the seal contacts the neck.

That's Fuel System Too Lean: too much oxygen in the fuel/oxygen mixture. Mitsubishi lists incorrect fuel as a possible cause:

Well, let us know what happens with it. I suspect it won't go away with lower octane fuel.

Your Mirage being a 2014 I have to suggest looking to make sure that the PCV hose is securely attached to the fitting on the intake plenum on the right side.
There were some mirages where this hose got pulled off partially or completely and can cause this condition. (lean code)

Location is dead center of the picture(s)

A bit more zoomed in.Added red arrow on the hose and where it goes.

Just a known issue that takes a few seconds to check.(flashlight recommended!)

Since everybody loves when someone posts a problem then goes mia......I had this code pop up the other day. The cel would come on and go out throughout the day. I did the throw parts at it til it's fixed trick. Started with the maf sensor. Put a used on in it and it's been good for a few weeks now so I'll call it fixed. The old one was probably just dirty after 404k kms.

Update: Code came back. Playing Canadian Tire/Mitsubishi Dealer mechanic was a failure. I should tell the guy that now there's a new problem that's totally different from the last time but that's not the case.

There's p0171,p0102 in the ecm then C1396, and U0401 stored in the abs module. The car runs like the pooh once in a while and the abs/trac control lights come on at the same time. Driver said it was sluggish. They also said when they fill up with fuel it takes a while for it to start after. That part sounds weird to me. I'm now thinking fuel pressure issue now. I'll have to make an adapter from a damaged fuel rail to test under the hood or just replace the pump with one of the next to no miles used ones I have around here.
I'm assuming the abs codes are possibly being caused by the engine running like crap.

Might as well change the spark plugs again too. It's been 200k kms/124k miles since they were last changed.
