Help wheels tires name it lol

sorry everyone, idk if someone posted asking about 17" wheels for their HB. I am new here, and I just want to get to the point already lol my dad wants me to change my 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage GLS mt wheels from 15" to something wider and taller, prolly 16 or 17. But he just wants to just change the wheels not do further adjustments to accommodate the bigger wheels. Is it possible? Thanks!

It's all going to come down to the offset of the rim and the availability of a tire that is approximately the same height.

195/45r16 to 195/55r16 on 16's work and 205/45r17 on 17's rims are ET:+30/+40. U might be able to put a 215/45r17 with the right off set if u don't change the suspension at all.

The rim offset is 46mm. You could possibly squeeze a 17" rim in but you would need to make sure the offset was slightly more negative (43mm-40mm) to accommodate the extra rim width because you'll need a 7 inch width minimum to fit the 40 series. The tire closest to oem size in height would be 195/40R 17. This pic is of what looks like a Miata with 195/40r17. You can see how ultra low profile they are. Just don't ever hit a pothole!

    Cool

That's why I'm not to crazy about those kind of wheels and tires, between the curbs, and the PotHoles it makes it Real Unsafe! Because I've looked at these cars with the tall tires they have No side wall to protect the Rim and you see how people have ruined thier wheels by scraping the curb. That's exspensive!!

Yeah, thanks everyone. My dad wants me to change the tires to increase ground clearance so my car can deal well with potholes and speed humps here in the Philippines. I gotta admit, roads and highways here are not the best, so a bigger set of ires might help.
