    Undercoating issues

Had the 'protection package' put on last Friday (interior coating, paint protection, undercoating)
and while everything seems alright, I took a peek underneath today and seen a lot of area left
uncoated, and some overspray on the rear bumper.

Is this normal? I assumed they would have taken off any of the deflection plates underneath to
get at the actual floor of the car BEFORE spraying. I was under the impression it was a total
    undercoating, not a partial.

If it's not too much trouble, could some of you with the undercoating visually check to see if they
coated most if not everything underneath? I'm mostly concerned about nearly one half of the main
body not being done because they just sprayed over the giant deflector plate instead of taking off
the couple of bolts first, besides the shoddy spray work.

They even got it IN the engine bay... wtf?

Oh dear. A rush job for sure, and I don't see any evidence of cavity wax being injected into the hollow sections that I can see in the pictures!

I went down to Mitsu earlier today and talked to the person who actually did the undercoating; he
was adamant that they are not required to remove any shielding or paneling before doing
the spray, as any paneling or shielding is considered the 'underbody'. I then asked about the
unsprayed areas and received nearly the same response: whatever was left uncoated
was done intentionally or due to it not being required. Looks like I'll be redoing the underbody
over again myself... at least the wheel wells were soaked down! Like, everywhere. lol
Apparently, accidental overspray is something that 'just happens' as well, but he did offer to
remove it from the areas it was on.

I'm not sure if cavity wax is part of the package here in Canada, I've never heard of it being done
before. It sounds like something us Wet Westenders could potentially use though!

Bilstein used to do a cavity fog they called waxoil. Rust is not that much of an issue here. I guess if it worried me I would just paint the bottom with rustoleum and a brush.

That's a sloppy job. I've seen undercoating much carefully done.

I went with rust chek. I am no expert, but I asked several car enthusiasts and they tended toward a rust-chek like product applied regularly. The issue with the thick rubbery coatings is that while they work well where well-applied, any gaps or chips or tears in the coating allow corrosive salt water in. I'm sure something is better than nothing, and only time will tell if my rust-chek gamble will pay off.

If I were you I would take it to someone else and have them look at it. And ask them about thier work, and see what could be done!
