Just looking to buy what people have upgraded from, I do a lot of driving and my tires are wearing fast!


I am located in central PA, if you are within 300 miles I can drive to you.

RT43 are $54.60 at timesaving. Com in 185/60R14, and if you go to General website you can get a $70 coupon on 4 tires. RTs are much better than enasavers and rated for 70k. 185/60 is only 1.3% off size-wise good luck

Ty sir yes the rt43s are better for handling but I can already grip pretty well with my enasaves, don't want to take a mpg hit. The 202 shipped price with 70 discount is about what I would pay for 4 hx civic wheels with 70% tires. Have to mention cheapest place mount and balance in my area is $13 per tire =$52 (I'm going to be buying a hf tire changer soon)

I might be the only one that likes the fast wearing enasaves lol I might only get 20-25k miles from my first set, but if I can find free or cheap second set and keep my mirage mpg to the top I'll be happy

I've replaced Michelin Energy Savers A/S with RT43 on Prius, and the MPG hit was minimal. RT43 roll alot better than most of non-LRR tires. Enasaves are liability in wet and winter, esp where you live. YMMV

Cyclopathic is correct . You shouldn't expect too much of a hit with RT43s' . Might want to put them at 35 > 37 p.s.i.. Keep ours at 34 > 36 for the '13 base FIT with a 5 speed auto . Had them on since 10/11/14 . They're 175/65-15 and H rated . Go here for gas mileage of the '13 FIT , . You can compare the fuel economy to the '11 base FIT with a 5 speed auto and Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 . Those are H rated and a low rolling resistant tire . Keep those at about the same tire pressure . Go here to view the '11 , . The 43s' are much better for ride, noise and handling ( dry , rain , etc. ) than the EP422s' . You will have a drop with new tires . I'd say you may experience about a 1 m.p.g. drop or 2 at the most with RT43s' after break in of a 1,000 miles .

RT43 marketing write up claims "tire abrasion reducing" optimized belts. Looks like it also increased grip, life and reduced noise and rolling resistance. H- and V- rated RT43s have narrower thread, so 185/60 will not be much wider than 165/65 Enasavers.

Ah good to know. I actually run general artics for the winter with studs from tire rack, mounted on some 2002 civic hybrid 14s

As tire wears out deeper ones will be there longer, so worn tire will work better in wet. Otherwise the impact should be minimal

Also H/V-rated have narrower thread then T-rated which should reduce heating at high speed, probably reduce rolling resistance/improve MPG but could also reduce cornering grip. YMMV

EDIT: also T-rated available in 175/65R14 and H-rated in 185/60R14. Thread width on 175/65 is 5.2" and on 185/60R14 5".
