Question Any way to set the cruise control to stay on?

I know most cars I've driven, the cruise control turns off when you turn the car off. My last car (Saturn S-Series), the factory cruise control was a physical switch that stayed on until you flipped the switch off again. Is there any programmatic way on the Mirage to get the cruise control to stay enabled all the time?

A button that is half an inch from the speed set switch anyway. It's just 'push and flick'...takes less than a second. I also liked how older cars had a 'master' cruise switch, but I don't think that is done anymore.

Those have gone the way of the 'ash tray'.

I think the switch described is like an on/off toggle. I remember having one on the dashboard of a '97 Honda Civic. The switch on the current Mirage is a momentary switch that sends a signal to a controller asking to activate speed control.

I know, I'm not usually this lazy. But then you have to look down and make sure you didn't already turn it on this trip, and... exhausting

It seemed like it could have been one of those semi-obscure, optional things. For instance, from the factory when you push the unlock button on the remote, it unlocks the drivers door, and if you press it again, it unlocks all doors. Since I often need to unlock all the doors, I was happy to find the instructions on changing the programming to allow you to unlock all doors with one press of the unlock button. Thought maybe this was the same thing.

I have to agree with wellswebdesign on this. I use cruise everyday and i always seem to set it and then the car falls on its face, because i forgot to turn it on. Easy way to get run over on the freeway.
