    Well, that obviously works on plastic. It might be easy to overheat though and deform your bumper in other ways if you got too aggressive. Have to find the happy medium where the plastic is pliable, but not melting!

    You can also do that with a Hair Dryer.

    The plastic on the bumper bars is a specific kind of plastic that can withstand temps of over 150 degrees celcius... Boiling water at around 95 degrees won't melt it...

    A hair dryer you can control the Temp,and it's clean and you don't have to clean up the water
