Long ways from beating Versa, but still very good. It may actually take off if they fix suspension, rear, put 15" wheels and pretty up front end. TOC on Mirage should be less than on Versa, so if the fleet operators start buying them sales will explode. On paper Spark sells well, but the numbers inflated by fleet sales.

I don't really understand where you guys are coming from. Your still going to have the same models we currently have now with pricing and mileage. The addition of a more powerful GT model just opens the market a bit and pushes the on paper numbers a little wider.

So the ES, which is now the top trim in the US and the base trim in Canada, is now going to be the base trim in the US with the middle trim being the SE, which has been the top trim in Canada since the car was introduced? And we get a new GT trim? And the DE presumably goes away?
Mitsubishi reeeeeallly needs to knock off the ES vs SE thing!
Assumed the 2.0 liter motor would have exact double the power of the 1.0 liter motor (this means only 176 Nm and 142 PS), the car weighs 1000 kg and has the same aerodynamics, it would have a 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds and reach 220 km/h. Therefore final drive should be changed to 3.5 (if you took the actual US-gearbox figures - gears 1-3 would be comparable to the Space Star 1.2 with european specification).
Just look at the diagrams attached.

Mitsu said 1348 Mirages sold for September.
A GT with more power and better suspension tuning would be a ridiculously good marketing move, even if they only sell a couple hundred a month.

Very true. Especially if they will be using an off-the-shelf motor like the 4B11. Lend all the jaded auto journalists the gung-ho GT model to test, and maybe they will lay off criticizing the lesser versions a little.
But really all they needed to do was make it a little quieter, sharpen up the suspension, and give it a facelift. I just hope they didn't do too much.

There not going to shoot up the base price. The base price will stay about the same. It will just have a better suspension and the new Mitsubishi face. They will also be adding a new trim level with a larger engine. Nothing to freak about guys
I love everything about Mitsubishi!!!!

You know there is a good thread here about getting rid of the noise, and it doesn’t take much to do it.
See topic: " How to do some noise dampening "
The down side is, mine makes so little noise, sometimes I try to restart the running engine when the lights turn green, because I didn’t hear it was running!
