    Grinding noise from ventilation fan?

Has anyone encountered that? Sometimes, an audible grinding noise happens when the cabin ventilation fan is running. I thought at first that something was wrong with the engine, but after shutting off the ventilation fan, the noise goes away. Usually, on a fresh start during the morning, I won't hear the noise, but later on during the day after the fan has been in operation for a while, the noise would appear.

Maybe if you could record it and post it on youtube or something everyone could listen to it.

HOw many miles on car? Do you live in South West?

Perhaps it is time to replace the cabin filter. (there is one on Mirage, right?)

This sometimes happens to me when a leaf or some pine needles work their way down into the fan. Not on the Mirage specifically, but on other vehicles.

Excellent point. Should make a distinctive, easily recognized sound.

Very easy indeed. I made a video awhile back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsI1BI_62YE It's on the Modifications and DIY section of this forum, too.
