This is the AC compressor where apparently the bearing took a crap and the pulley ended up eating the outer housing and whatnot. This little pretty set me back 1300 after all was said and done. The guys at Mentor Mitsubishi(since Valley view and Bedford Mitsubishi have both closed down in the last year and a half) did a really good job. They were very pleasant and gave me a rental car to boot. They were able to get the job done in one day thank god so I didn't have to drive the Fiat 500L home. All in all it was a good experience. So it's half a "damn this sucks my ac compressor went out" and half a "good job mentor mitsubishi." These are NE Ohio dealers btw.

So, this isn't covered by warranty?

No chance belt was overtightened? If it may have was it from the factory or from service?

Kudo on Mentor Mitsubishi. We bought ours from them and they were pleasure to deal with. Can't say anything about their service department, we are out of town and very unlikely to take car there.

Why didn't you go to Sunnyside Mitsubishi? It would have been closer to you.

Trying to drive to Sunnyside from Bedford Heights at 8am is a fool's errand. I work in the triangle of 422/480/271 and went to Bedford Mitsubishi only to find out they are shutting it down. The best idea was to trek down 271 to Mentor instead of trying to fight the traffic going towards downtown on 480 at that time.

It is possible. It was the factory belt and has never been serviced since I've owned it. The belt even still looked good minus the part that was ripped off from the edge of the pulley. Good luck proving that though you know.

Ouch! I know I would be too poor to afford that, I'd be looking for a used compressor... I might try to loosen my belt a little now seeing this.

I found a bunch of used compressors but I live so far away from my job I had no choice but to get it done here. You can find a used compressor for about 120 on ebay. Believe me lol....I looked
