Pffft 3000 rpm on the highway! Mine consistently runs 4000-4500+ on the highway, I typically run mine at 80 mph but sometimes closer to 90 and have yet to suffer any problems, I also have a 10 yr/ 120k bumper to bumper warranty so I DGAF. I don't have to shift out of third til about 80 and it could definitely use a sixth gear.

I believe babying it at 60 mph it'd probably last forever.

    TFC,
. . . . It is OK! My 323 and Protege both would be pulling 4K at 80 mph and I had 320K on the 323 when I sold and it didn't use any oil. The Protege had 140K when I traded it and it was using 1/4 quart in 10K miles. If you use a good oil and change it like you are supposed to these little engines will go 200 to 300 K with no problem at all even running at 4K rpm all day long.
    GOD Bless and Thanks,
    rich!
