How long do you expect to keep your Mirage? Is your Mirage something you love and want to keep until it can't be fixed again, or is it just something to bide time and save money until you can get something nicer?
Forever! Or until it becomes too unreliable to keep driving.
~5 years. My loan will be paid off and I'll look for something else.
~3 years. The Mirage saves me money but I'm not in love.
~1 year. I like it, but I'm also looking for something else soon.

10 years or maybe more? By that time, maybe my car is already converted to HHO if its computer box is still functional.

If/when I get one, probably a long time.
To back this up: I have the distinction of owning one car the longest of anyone in my family (11 years). Though I also drive the least in my family, so I tend not to wear it out. Oh, and I've started using "winter beaters" so my primary car (Firefly) can be put away for the nasty season and won't rust away as a result of road salt.

I'm hoping to get around 10-15 years out of it. I'll do the synthetic oil changes and all other maintenance on schedule, I've had it rust-checked, and had Line-X put on the fenders and rockers and hood. I also don't drive as much as most, and use it mostly for out-of-town trips, so I expect I can get 15 years. That said, I'll be saving for what's next, and if I can get a mr. fusion powered car, or an inexpensive Tesla, or something equally amazing, I might let the Mirage go sooner.

I get way too bored to keep a car more than 5 years. I guess it would depend on what type of aftermarket items are available. If there is a GT model I may trade it for that.
