It seems these designs finally match the H4 halogen beam pattern..

Great comparison between the Philips Ultinon crazy expensive H4's and the clone CN360LED H4's

With single side LED's, you get only 180 degree beam on the horizontal plane.

I think that cap is used as a shield to prevent glare to oncoming motorists.

OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Headlight, with LED on two sides, has some positive reviews.

So I got to drive car last night and yes 180° design creates a cut off on high beam, but it is at least at roofline of 2-story building.

I need to find a tall enough solid wall to try to make a picture

Reviving an old thread. So what is the consensus of LED bulbs? Are people using them and if so how has the reliability and durability been? What brand did you use and how much?

I have these for the headlights

    https://amzn.to/2Dk8VIM

I have these for the fog lights

    https://amzn.to/2qrQV6F

I love them. They are so much nicer at night and they are not blinding to anyone. That was my main concern. Now that I have used them for a few months I think I may put them on our other car as well. The whiter light is so much nicer at night especially with my 40 year old eyes.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the headlights that you have. I like the looks of them, and they have some pretty good reviews. I've been researching a bunch of different ones, and I think the guard on these will fit the bill for what i'm looking for, and at that price, it would be worth the shot w/ the warranty. Especially since they are DOT approved(allegedly)! On the fog lights, the link you posted doesn't show the H11 option. Do they just no longer sell them maybe?

Awesome! Maybe they were sold out for a minute. They have been in a few months and they are still working great. I can see so much better at night with these. The white light is a big help for older eyes.

I was referring to the 2nd link he attached. The one about fog lights. I saw those as well, but those are actually a different design, supposedly intended as headlights(not sure that actually makes a difference or not. haha). They're also $32.99 vs $19.99, which greatly attracted me. lol.
This is the link for the fog lights he attached:
