row-your-boat owners: what RPMs do you shift?

In my rio, I keep it below 2k; somewhere between 1800-2k max.

Driving the Mirage for 2 days, I'm feeling that the engine does not quite like under 2k.

Am I mistaken?

I like to go all the way up to just below rev limit which is 6800
Because racecar.

I also have an intake, which is crazy loud, and helps the kick at the end of the rpm.

haven't figured out whats best for my economy yet. the way the power comes on at 4000-5000rpm in 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd is pretty awesome, usually shift third to fourth in the 3000-4000rpm as I'm usually up to the speed limit by then (60km/hr) then 5th at speeds over 65k-70m/hr.

for economy I image shifting before 3000-3500 rpm would be best, the eco light is usually still on at these rpm if steadily accelerating.

under 2500 rpm on 1st gear, 1900 - 2000 rpm on 2nd and under 1800 rpm on 3-5th gear. Drives at 5th gear at 55 km/hour.
This car don't like 50 km/h on 5th. Mind you I have the 1.0L version.

On stop from gas station next to the highway and entering highways I never check my rpm but my speedometer since it's bigger and easier to look at, 1st gear goes to 30 km/hour, 2nd to 60 km/hour and 3rd goes to 100 km/hour then switched directly from 3rd to 5th.

When it's wet and the road to my work in front of the gate is steep, after the gate's been opened I always get wheelspin, every time it's wet.

What's your goal?

If it's stronger acceleration, shift at a higher RPM. If it's fuel economy, shift lower.

As long as you're not lugging it, I wouldn't worry.

On 1.0L, under 1200 rpm my engine starts choking. So everything between 1200-2000 rpm is an optimum eco range
