    car spring spacers/isolators rubber damper

    Hi everyone.

as stated in the thread title. i want discuss about using rubber damper to make the rear suspension not too soft. in Indonesia it's quite popular because it's easy to apply and working. the question is always about how long it will work. because the damper is made with rubber.
in my case, applied on the rear spring. and yes, now the ride is more better, due to the damper. i guess it's similar with if you are using progressive spring.

if you need more info please ask google with this thread title as a keyword

I know one member of the forum who lives in the US put them on his car, but he's not active here any more.

He made a video of it where he says he was quite happy with the results. I'll see if I can find it...

The boosters were fitted at the bottom, though, I thought?

I put two on each front spring and am using the rear yaris springs. The rubber dampers definitely make the ride firmer, and my car actually rides quite firm. it is always best to change the springs but if you are on a tight budget I would say to try the rubber spacers first. Mine look like the type in the first post. Make sure you get ones that are relatively stiff rubber.

Hmm... interesting. I've had the aluminum 'spring supports' on the rear of my Elantra Touring for over 150k miles and never had a problem with them. I installed 4 on each spring, definitely a lot cheaper than these. I wonder if the rubber would deteriorate or compress over time.
