    Spring Spacers/Isolators

Alright, so I'm looking ahead to when I'll be moving out of Virginia, and remembering how my move from Oregon to Ohio went, I don't feel like blowing out the rear shocks and bottoming out my rear end repeatedly along the way on my new car. So, I'd like to explore some options for throwing in some spring spacers or isolators to lift the rear end up a bit so it'll be even under load, but still use the stiffer H&R springs.

I could just break out my OEM springs and use them to find a set that fits on the rear, but I figured I'll post here to see if anyone else has found any that work, and whether between-the-coil spacers or isolators on the ends would be better for supporting a heavy load while maintaining suspension travel.

If h&r anything like TEINs IMHO you'd better off reinstalling stocks rears and then putting spacers in them. Lowering springs are too short to use with spacers.

Spacers can be bought on Amazon, jc Whitney or AutoZone take your pick.

I'm also interested in spring spacers but they all seem gimmicky. Do thay actually do anything? Any one used them and can confirm?

    How much are spring spacers?

60$ will give you the VW lowering springs. I haven't bottomed out in a LONG time. Only time was when the car was full AND there was a huge dip on the road.

I'm thinking of something closer to lift kits on a truck, to raise the height of the rear end.

Air kit would be nice, but it wouldn't be cheap. You don't have to buy an onboard compressor, just pump it up manually when you have a need. Something like this?

Does anyone happen to know the diameter of the bottom seats of the rear springs? If not, I can always measure it, but I wasn't sure if anyone knows off hand.
