I just ordered this. ModifyStreet Ball Shaped 450g Weighted Shift knob - JDM Brushed Silver

17 bucks. I had pretty much an identical one on my 93 z28. We'll see if it's any good.

EDIT: Works perfectly and shifts are a bit smoother. Can't beat it for 17 bucks.

Wanted to say thank you for the recommendation on the weighted Blox shift knob. I ordered a gun-metal colored one for my Mirage and LOVE the improvement in shifting.

I made a custom cueball shifter. Its definitely heavier than the stock rubber ball, and it sits higher. I'd say this, combined with a blast of WD-40 on my linkages at the trans, has made my shifts significantly smoother than they initially were.

Solid Al knob here too, terrible in Wisconsin weather for most of the year. Otherwise, shifts great!
If I can't stand it for too long, I have the OEM knob in the glovebox, I just thread that on real quick.

The Modify Street 450g weighted shift knob was the first thing I did to our Mirage. Worth ever cent. $18 via Amazon.

Gonna sneak this in: while looking at the different shift knobs, has anyone replaced the shift boot/skirt thing? If so a DIY would be great.

Also, has anyone weighed the DE or ES knob? I would but I don't have a mini scale.
