    fuel economy/ space star 2015

So the other night driving like a granny having an average speed of 60 km/h and an engine speed of 2000 rpms gave me aproximately 23 km/L. Conditions were 0 degrees celcius and automatic climate control at 20 degrees celcius. It was a fairly nice ride enjoying the ride being 20 km each way with a 2 hours pause in between. I drove with winter tirse at 2.7 bars(standard). Is it only me who needs to drive like a granny to achieve this economy? :P please post your experience... btw the engine is turning about 14500km.

I looked at your fuel log and you're achieving good mileage. I think it's more of a combination of relatively cold temperatures, winter tires. One thing about the Mirage I like is that it's got an awesome heater that will really put out some heat.

i dont know much of my consumption hehe. but 1 thing i now is that my 500 pesos here in the philippines or $10 US can reach at about a week of city driving like 12 liters or 13 liters depending on the gas price here. and note that when i gas up it still has 1 bar left not blinking or sometimes blinking 1 bar. hehehe

i usually go with the same speed as yours around 60 or 50.

Thanks I always seek to improve fuel economy. I don't want big futuristic Mercedes, I just like to drive this little car that has back to basic technology and where you are able to feel the road

heheh Are you sure about your fuel economy, as I took a look at it, it is not the best, sorry to dissapoint. I'm sure it does much better. Maybe the calculaions must be wrong somehow or you just deal with a lot of traffic jams. Or you just like to rev this car

Lots of traffic in the Philippines with a lot of humid heat that require a/c usage almost constantly.

I just did a similar trip yesterday of about 70 km, most of it at 60 - 65 km/hr. I got exactly the same fuel economy - 4.3 l/100km. No eco-driving techniques.

Get a block heater, block off most of the lower grille, raise your tire pressure above 3bars, coast every chance you get, act like you have no brakes. I also turn the engine off to coast at infinite mpg.

fuel mpg at the bottom of my post.

Oh yes, don't accelerate like grandpa but keep your rpm below 3500 unless you are going over 110 kph (euro cars have lower top gear ratios).

    regards
    mech

i gues its due to traffic, since in the philippines theres plenty of cars but few roads to cruise
