    $500 engine in Michigan

I made a offer of $250 on eBay for it but it was declined. I am looking to find a 3a92 for dirt cheap

    $400-500 is still pretty cheap!

No my engine is healthy. I'm just thinking after 200k of hard abuse as a taxi maybe swapping the engine for a fresh low mileage one. I can easily get a 3a92, put some wd40 down the spark plug holes and put it in my closet haha. I figure at 200k the 3a92 will need a timing chain and guides possibly. It would be nice to have a engine to throw in, then take time to go over the old engine and rebuild the chain and check all of the bearings and replace as needed. I do a ton of idling as a taxi when it's cold outside. I use gl5 oil and Fram ultra synthetic filters, and I changed the oil and found no metal on my hks drain plug magnet.

Haha great minds think alike, I'm thinking after my second clutch (if it makes it 100k per clutch) the tranny will need to be replaced for my comfort, plus they are so cheap!

Holy moly thats a cheap engine, even if they can't tell you how many miles there is on it..
I would by it, if i could test start it or see it running before buying - and it was in my neighbourhood..

Engines will be cheap when there is absolutely no demand for them. Every totaled Mirage without engine damage increases the supply while the demand is basically 0 due to the 10/100 warranty. The only market MIGHT be rebuilt totals but with the new discounts even that possibility is minimal.

They should have taken your offer.

    regards
    mech

That's why there was no worries when they declined the offer. Much more will be out soon.

So are these engines from totaled cars? as op is taxi driver I can understand why he looks ahead by buying a new one. but for normal driver like me that will get 200k km on the odo about 20 years it is no problem
