    Mystery part

Okay apologies in advance. Background--> I know very little about cars and am not mechanically inclined.

This car is my new baby. 3 weeks old. ...so I get in the car on the way to work and feel something under my foot. (see images) Now I have only had this car 3 weeks, and have not had any cargo that I would expect would have 'parts' to it. Also its large enough I question how I could track it in...I don't wear big tread work-boots.

So my question which is driving me crazy is did this fall off something to end up on the drivers floor???
I looked around and didn't see an obvious spot.

Thanks in advance for any feedback. This feels like the extra part left over from an Ikea project...might not really be needed but it bugs you none the less.

Kinda looks like it would fit where the Side Mirror buttons or Hands free bluetooth is at.

I'm guessing door bumper/cushion. Do you notice any rattly doors, or does your driver side door close funny?

I just checked my door and the bumper does not look like that.

no have not noticed any rattling or anything wrong at all. I tried to look around for a hole since it looks like it caps off an opening but I don't see anything obvious. Thanks for the replies

Those pictures are pretty big for my monitor - too big to see the whole item. Would it be worthwhile to post one more photo - perhaps scaled down a bit and maybe with an object like a quarter for a size reference. I first thought it was a bumper, but I don't know if it is hard or soft - it looks rubber-like from here.

I'll keep looking around my car to see if anything matches.

    Found it!

It's the bump stop for your clutch pedal. It attaches to the arm just behind (in front of) the footpad.

Sorry I didn't have my phone with me to take a picture, but hopefully you can figure out how to fit it back on. I'll try to get some photos posted when I get a chance.

And by the way, we have family in Pullman. The Palouse is beautiful. We enjoyed a too-short-week-long summer vacation on Coeur d'Alene.

Edit: Actually we stayed at the South end of the lake near Hawleys Landing.
