    175-55-15 tires on 2017 Mirage

The website specs say this about the 2017 Mirage GT tires...

"Front and rear 175-55-15 all-season tires includes: low rolling resistance"

The 175-55-15 is an uncommon tire size in the United States. I'm pretty sure the only car (in the US) this tire is used on is the 2004-2006 Smart cars (rear tires only). And the only low rolling resistance tires available in that size (Continental ContieContact EP) are "summer only" tires, not all-season.

I came across some press photos of a 2017 GT and blew them up...

It looks like the 15" 2017 Mirage tires are Yokohama Avid S34. I can't find any information on this tire in this size. These may be new tires created for the Mirage, because I don't believe there's an all-season low rolling resistance 175-55-15 tire available in the US right now. If there is, someone let me know because I'm considering this tire size for my new 15" wheels.

Yes...very helpful! The Yokohama S34 low rolling resistance tire might fall under the "BluEarth" label.

HERE is that model tire on Tire Rack.

This size of Yokohama tire (175-55-15) may be new to the US market. I can't find any reference to it anywhere in the US. I had a local tire dealer do a check today, and they didn't see this size of Yokohama anywhere.

Mitsubishi might be shipping these cars to the US before there is a supply of replacement tires in the pipeline. So don't get a flat in your 2017 Mirage GT any time soon!

Just an update to this thread...

Tire Rack is now listing the OEM Yokohama AVID S34 175-55-15 tires used on the 2017 Mirage GT. They are calling them AVID S34FA (not sure what FA means?!?). They are listed as an all-season tire...but not low rolling resistance? It's listed as being on backorder, too. I can't find any details on this tire anywhere on the web yet. And you thought Enasaves were expensive...
