    Rock guard for fog lights

After installing fog lights I began to worry about stones taking them out.
I thought "no problem I'll get some rally stone guards" the only thing is they don't makem that small.....
They may have years ago but not now.
So I put my thinking cap on and came up with 70mm computer fan grilles.....

like these:I had to bend the ears to bring them in to match the lip.

I used 1/2" #6 robertson sheet metal screws, the plastic is soft so no pilot hole is needed.

The pliers I used to bend the ears....

Looks good to me. I bet you don't even see them at 10ft.

I like it. Clever new use of a (somewhat...) common item.

    Is the dog included? lol

She rides shotgun, and gets a lot of smiles on the road!

I can't remember the specific product, but there are some thick, clear laminate materials that are made to help protect fragile fog lights. Back when I had my Terminator (that's a 2003 Supercharged Cobra to you non-Mustang guys ) a lot of people were using a product like this with good results. If I remember correctly, those fog light lenses were glass and people were breaking them on a regular basis.

HERE is an example of such a product.

Meh, a layer sticker on the fog lights isn't something I'd do again. I had yellow stickers burn from my Corolla's fogs and it took a while to clean off.
