    Just replaced my front pads

I developed a slight squeel at 44-45k miles. I removed my front pads originally at about 3k miles and lubed them when I noticed slight irregular wear. I did the same thing at 44-45k miles but it didn't solve the problem. I had a tiny bit of pad left, so I ordered some new ones ASAP from rock auto. The rotors are slightly warped and I figured I'll run them another 40-50k and just buy new ones. I took some pics of my pads with 47,695 miles (25-30k hard uber taxi miles, lots of fully loaded stop and go)

    Hi alex,
Your pads held up well. Good that you lubed the calipers, I recall that post. I hope to get 50k from my pads, and I try to go easy on them so may be possible.
How is your car doing with oil at 47k miles, any consumption or does it stay full between changes?

Looks pretty good considering the uber usage.

When you lubed things up at 3k miles, did you relube your slides too? It looks like the wear is slightly off, not bad though.

The wear was off when I first lubed them. I lubed the pins with silglyde and the pads/hardware with permatex synthetic brake grease. The red is brake quiet

Ah, yeah then it won't correct itself. But, it sounds like your lube job did what it was supposed to do.

I was looking at those pads as well. Do you notice more bite with the new brakes?

Thanks for the info alex. Just wondered also, at47k miles, do you notice any other differences in the car, specifically oil usage, coolant loss or any performance changes? Thanks again for the brake writeup.

I've noticed the coolant level went down in the over flow tank maybe an ounce? No oil consumption at 7k oil changes. The pads work just as good as oem, no change I can feel from driving. I think they produce a bit more brake dust though. My rotors are warped slightly so I went with the cheapest pads I could get.

My pads were done at 20k. My BRAKE light was coming on when I was facing downhill because they were so low. I drive pretty much exclusively city and Pittsburgh hills are unforgiving on cars so I expected it. I replaced the pads with Duralast ones from AutoZone and they've been good so far.
