Really, really ridiculously good gas mileage. (for me)

Just filled up last night and got a nice MPG surprise. 347.4 miles with 7.053 gallons, or 49.3 MPG. That's almost 7 mpg better than my lifetime Fuelly average!

In the past month, I've had an engine oil change, I replaced the trans fluid with Red Line, and I had the ECM recall done. I'm at 11k miles. Granted, it has been slightly warmer, and I did do slightly more 65mph highway than usual, but I did use the AC on the highway for some of that driving.

I've had many trips this fuel up, mostly suburbs, that ended up over 50mpg. Before this fill up, that was a rarity. I don't do anything other than accelerate economically up to the speed limit, and look ahead for where I can let off the gas and reduce braking. I'm trying to recall where I bought the gas, but it was likely one of my usual stations.

I guess we'll see on the next fill up if this was some kind of fluke!

Yeah this car is among some of the most economical cars, not being diesel or hybrid. trip computer told me 46 mpg on my 100+ km trip(being city, highway and normal roads). keep in mind the weather is like 2 degrees C with lots of wind and heavy rain(not the game XD) with auto aircon on and lights and brighter lights for bad weather. My fuel economy with above mentioned weather gives me better fuel economy than american test results for the car's combined fuel consumption(note: is it 37 or 44 combined, dont know, but still better than that I am doing ) But I am mad because the radio mention that Mitsubsishi cheated with fuel consumption in 25 years... is that why I can't reach 55 mpg combined with my car? for my country? But still, can I complain about 46-50 mpg fuel economy. I drive like you sir, slow acceleration to speed limit and looking ahead in traffic to save gas. also I always try to keep the car rolling for a green light every time Have a good day and keep driving safe

The US is also back on 'summer blend' gas, which means it has more actual GASOLINE in it and less crap like butane, etc.

I went from the high 40s to the low 50s over the last couple weeks.

That's excellent! Attached image is the best I've gotten on a 5speed base model, and it's only got 1.5k miles on it so it isn't "broken in" yet. I keep trying to get to the 50 mark when I'm headed to PA.Name: IMAG0422[1].jpg

Even taking into account summer blend gas, it's still far better MPG than I got last summer. Yeah, I see many of you regularly get MPGs into the 50s, and I guess I just assumed you were either running 50psi, or engine-off coasting, or something like that. Whatever the case is, I'm happy going that far, for that cheap.
