    Backseat lighting

    Hi all
Have had my mirage for a while now and wanted to share my mod with you guys for back passenger seat lighting.

I wanted something that was non invasive yet simple. Did not appeal to me...cutting out holes in my headliner.

Upon checking the interior ceiling in the mirage I found two tabs above on either side of the backseat which hold the ceiling panel in place. It was to these tabs I mounted a stick on, battery powered led light to each.
The ones I bought from eBay have about 9 leds on them and are really bright. At first I had trouble keeping them in position with the adhesive which came with it, it was glued into the back battery cover.. It would not stick properly to the tab and eventually peeled itself off from gravity.
I solved it by pulling the tabs out, and taking the battery cover off on the light, and wrapping sticky tape around the edges of the tab and the cover staying clear of the part which is inserted into the roof.

The result was a very solid mount and a well lit cabin.

I run rechargeable AAAs in both. On rare occasions I do forget to turn them off and the batteries die... but because of the nature of rechargeables regenerating a little juice by itself, and the low power draw of leds, its not a big problem. I have enough light and time to do what you need to do before they dim. I usually just recharge whenever.

That looks cool! I do wish our cars had some kind of rear dome light.
