Those wheels are getting hard to find in nice shape for a reasonable price.

I think owners regularly upgrade to larger tires. Anyone keeping an eye on the ads should be able to find new or nearly new Enasaves (or whatever the OEM tires are now) for a fraction of the new price. Cheap enough to buy a set to keep "in stock".

You added the Mistu logo to the caps AND somehow figured out how to emboss "MIRAGE" in the sidewall! ;D

I missed out on that deal. I was gonna pick them up then I got the wuhan… might just run the noisy winter tires year round again.

Yeah, that was a crazy deal for some "new" Enasaves.

I got a set of 4 basically new Enasaves for 80 bucks a couple of years ago.

More exciting: I just picked up a set of used Prius tires! 195/65R15 Ecopia EP422 Plus - they're a bit more than half worn out (which is actually better for MPG). They reduce engine RPM by 10% compared to the factory tire size.

I'll make a full report once I've driven them a bit. I've already trimmed a bit of plastic from the front wheel arch that they were touching near full lock.

The tire brand is actually "Mirage"! Model is MR162.
    Offered by smaller Mom&Pop shops.
Yet another product from the Far East. Price was certainly right - $390 installed and balanced, including tax.

I had to re-read your post again. I thought you had tried 185-65-15s on a Mirage before with no rubbing.

    Then I re-read your post...

...just picked up a set of used Prius tires! 195/65R15...

    Yep - 195/65's!

(The 185's I used last year were really old, and so weather checked they looked like they were threatening to shed some tread. These 195's are now the newest set of tires I own. )

195/65R15's are as tall as will fit this car. Actually slightly too tall, but just slightly. I'm sure someone else has pointed this out already.

PS: the car looks fantastic in that colour, on those wheels & tires. Nice job.
