Back to the OP topic, here are my stats that I collected today on my day off

    45MPH 10 miles strait.

Reverse direction at 45MPH, got stuck at a few red light, but no traffic. Kept it under 3k RPMs

Ran to the liquor store and back after the above runs. I got stuck in some traffic and lights, but still kept it under 3k RPMs. I almost got home with it at 38mpg, but there was a cluster of idiots honking at eachother which caused a long delay followed by a get out of the way fast maneuver lol...

Pulled the trigger on a set of these for myself. Got them at just a hair under $300 from Amazon after $50 off for signing up for the credit card. My current tires are at 6/32", so I won't be putting rubber on them until spring.

What tire size are you thinking about...185-55-15s or something else?

195-50-15 Summer tires, debating on which ones, but there's plenty of time to choose.

That is the size I wanted originally, but I was talked into 185/55 even though they aren't very much different lol. I need a new set already come august. I burned through my Toyo Summer tires pretty fast (25k Miles). I'm thinking about a ultra high performance 3 season tire with a higher mileage warranty. The Toyo's had none... Looking at Yoko Avid Ascend or maybe Kumho PA31. I'm hoping to get double the use out of them vs my current rubber, though boy did the Toyos stick (still do dry) nice!!! I just need a little higher wear rate with the miles I put on my car :/ So really I'm looking at more of a 500 Tread w/Warranty while retaining the wet and dry performance. I'm either staying with 185/55, going to 195/50, or maybe get 195/45 for this set!

I have a set of blizzak snow tires I used one season on another car and was wondering if they'd fit the Mirage. They are 165-65-15's. I know that it's got too high a profile to be a +1 size, but does anyone have any idea if they would fit without clearance issues. I don't care if the speedo is off. They are great tires and I don't want to sell them come next fall.

Assuming you put these on 15 x 6.5 wheels with a 40mm offset (A Konig Helium or similar wheel), it doesn't look like you would have any clearance issues. I went to the website http://www.willtheyfit.com and put in my current 15" wheel/tire setup (which doesn't rub anywhere), then I just changed the tire size to 165-65-15...and it looks fine. Here's what it looks like below...

Take a look at the S Drives. They are in the price range and are a proven tire. I almost bought those. If I didn't have a possible Chicago trip this year, I would probably be buying more expensive Max summer tires for my next set. The short life of the summer tires is a deterrent though for me. I figured with the low torque of the Mirage they would last longer, but they lost most of their life in the corners. One of my tires is "chopped". It broke down internally and is slapping the road. I can feel a slight shake in the steering wheel and the wheel/suspension is fine.

If you can afford to change tires every year or when one fails, then go for it. Looking at the future, I think I'll go with a warranty so when one fails, it gets replaced for much less...

The only thing to think about now is should I buy them direct for much cheaper or spend more at my local shop, but if there is a problem they will fix the issue for free? It's a toss up. Buying from an authorized dealer/shop has huge benefits when it is a high mileage tire with a warranty... If I buy them through tire rack (for much cheaper) and have them mounted locally and there is an issue, then I have to pay to have them unmounted and ship them back to tire rack!

*EDIT: Looks Like I'm going with the Kumho Ecsta PA31 185/55R15 82V. I got quoted $450 out the door balance and mount. This is the same shop that installed my wheels and tires to begin with. 50k Mile Warranty... I may go with 195/55 as they are about the same dimensions as my 185/55 Toyo Proxes...

**EDIT 2: I'm either going with Kumho Ecsta 4X II (KU22) 195/55 15 at $425 install or these 195/45 Toyo Proxes (again but larger/lower size).

They are $237 a set from tirerack and maybe I'll just deal with the 22,500 mile life of them since they are so cheap and stick to the road like suction cups

Took some photos of the bronze Heliums against the blue to see how it'll look. I like it better than my brighter gold VXs, the muted bronze compliments it better.
