Power Stop CRK7217 2014-2017 front brake kit ceramic pads with coated rotors

Hey 2of9, I looked up the Power Stop CRK7217 kit you listed for your brake job. Rock Auto lists the kit for the Mirage from 2014 through 2017. Knowing that the brakes were changed for the 2017 model year, and you have a 2015, were there any problems with fit, or did you have to change out any other hardware such as the mounting bracket for a larger rotor?

Here's some links I found for your kit - I hope I got the right ones.

And of course, how do they work? What do you think about the ceramic pads and coated rotors?

Whoa! That is strange. The CRK7217 were the ones I got. The Rotors and Pads were perfect fitment on my 2015. The rotors were the same size as the 2015 too. I did see that the 17' models had 'bigger' rotors. Is it something Rockauto missed? Because the CRK7217s were direct replacements.

For the Mirage, it's great. During the track day, braking was solid. I would say it was much better than the OEM pads. I can't tell if it's producing dust since the colors of my wheels are a really dark gray/charcoal color. I believe I really tested the pads during the track day as I would be going from 60-65ish mph and almost braking the 'latest' I could before the apex. Rotors weren't glowing and the pads still had a good chunk of 'meat' on it. After Two 20 minute sessions.

I have about close to maybe 1,100 miles on the new rotors right now and it still brakes really well. As for the ceramic pads and coated rotors, for daily use it's perfectly fine. It does 'bite' when you need it to.

Car has 80,5xx miles right now. Pictures for records. Overall....not too bad for driving it through harsh winters and harsh salty roads. If my memory is correct, earlier this year, I washed it once every other week since the salt does decide to 'dust' up the windows at times.

Buuuut, I haven't washed it since it last snowed either
