    Better Trunk Floor DIY

I needed to improve the trunk floor on this car because it was just terrible. Groceries or frozen items would bend and warp the stock cardboard.... Decided to go with PVC because its cheap, light, easy to work and waterproof. I think I might hit the underside with some undercoating or some Plasti Dip to help with noise.

    Materials:
    1. PVC Board 1/4" 4ftx2ft $7.85 Home Depot
    2. Angle Grinder
    3. Cutting Disc
    4. Grinding Disc

Lay your existing liner onto the PVC and trace

Start cutting with your grinder, be gentle this stuff is soft

    Rough cut

    Clean it up

    Test Fit

Cut extra notches for rear seat brackets

    In it goes

    No more crappy floor

Very professional look! Without anything on the underside of the pvc, do you get any vibration noise from it? I'll probably end up doing something very similar once mine comes in

    What's the issue here?
I put two 5 gal. water bottles and a 6 gal. Gas can in my "trunk" once or twice a month and my trunk floor handles it just fine.
    Will weld for beer.

The trunk has soft spots and the liner might as well not exist lol. I went to sams and bought some groceries and the cold things and weight warped the stock floor. If you watch some reviews on the car or lift up the liner you will understand. The stock floor doesnt do much for noise either. Its not essential but its an $8 30 minute improvement that makes living with this car on a daily basis easier.

I fully understand how flimsy it appears... I've been abusing it since Feb 2014. Maybe they were a little better on the 14's? I think when it flexes down it contacts the spare and this supports the load. Oh.. mine also has sound deadening matting on the underside.

I think you have a point, mine has not matting. I think we in PR get the phillipine market version, I dont even have rear speakers.
