UK: Mirage 3 review - A city car that lacks imagination (cityam.com)
Pardon me while I flatly disagree with the premise of this review:
...nobody involved in its development were aiming any higher than “that’ll do”.
OK, so the car's styling and probably its driving characteristics will leave much to be desired (if you're after "sporty"), but the reviewer contradicts his own argument by going on to praise the car's efficiency. It's a blatant contradition since it's the engineering in the car's body (weight savings and aerodynamics) that contribute to the excellent efficiency; achieving best in class on both counts is clearly anything but a "that'll do" philosophy.
Carrying on...
Likes:
- cinch to drive in the city
- character of the 1.2L engine
- practical, spacious interior
- large boot (trunk)
- excellent fuel economy
- clever "Eco drive assist" gauge
Dislikes:
- dull driving character
- dull styling
- wind & road noise at speed
- hard plastic interior
Overall:
If you're the type to buy a toaster only after reading the consumer reviews, the Mirage might be for you. "The new Mirage will make you fall asleep at the wheel."
