Next Green Car offers a rare review that evaluates the car on its engineering goals, rather than on how well it does or doesn't corner on a race track. (Although the two don't have to be incompatible, Mitsu!)

I'll cut to the chase: they give the car a score of 28/100 (where lower is better) and award the Mirage a place on their list of "Approved" green city cars. See the list here: http://www.nextgreencar.com/approved/

Like...

- solid feel despite low weight
- Mitsubishi's reputation for reliability
- interior space, esp. in the back
- well equipped
- smooth ride
- strong braking ability
- comfortable seat

Green credentials...

The review makes a point of commending the Mirage for:

- low aerodynamic drag
- low weight
- dashboard Eco Driving gauge
- high-efficiency alternator with regenerative braking
- engine stop 'n' go
- LRR tires

Dislike...

- door handles (prefer the kind you grab & pull, rather than flip-up)
- handling not on par with benchmark VW Up
- body roll
- ho-hum styling
