Local dealer has a sense of humor...

My wife brought the mirage back to me after running errands in town, and explained that the fuel gauge was reading dead empty, along with a check engine light. She put $10 in it, wasn't smelling gas. I start the car, look under it, and it's not leaking fuel. I call Ray at the dealer where I purchased the car (and where I take it for maintenance) And ask if they can fit me in... They found a rat on top of the fuel tank. Big sucker too. He had eaten one of the sending unit wires. They were able to fix it, but what got me is the way they wrote up the repair...

Ha! That's Hilarious. Thanks for posting that.

At work we had a problem with an aerial fiber optic cable that had been chewed through, probably by squirrels. They even came back after the repair and chewed it again.

Stupid rats love this car. I've found that those adhesive LED light strips work well to keep them out. I have to put one over the fuel tank now.

I hope this cover under warranty and you don't have to pay for the repair.

I had to pay for the repair... rodent damage wouldn't be covered under warranty. Had I known that was the deal, I'd have chased the little prick out of there myself and fixed the car. It was only one wire.

I had mice living behind my stove and they were coming out at night to chew through my audio cable from my computer to the speakers. They would do it every single night. I thought it was the dogs at first but then I started noticing their droppings on the floor. I looked in the window sills and they were trying to chew their way out which led me to believe they were trapped in my house. At this point they started Living in the insulation in my stove. They would complain when we went to use it and they started taking the ant traps I had slid underneath the appliances in the kitchen and placing them in the oven on the broiler rack. So when I lit the stove it started on fire. They did this a couple different occasions. They were literally trying to poison me LOL. I finally got them to relocate into a box in my closet which I simply just tossed outside. I was able to get one with a mouse trap but all the others learned from the experience. You have no idea how infuriating it is to have no sound on your computer every single day because something chewed through the cord.
